It's Thursday, and today we have gone the extra mile to bring you one of the great unsigned or indy label artists struggling to make their way in Nashville. Today, an artist from Canton,TX whose sounds remind you of a young Rascal Flatts or Keith Urban, while still paying attention to the classics, like George Strait.

He was born and raised in Canton, TX, but Chris Holt's family went for a complete culture shock in 2003 moving to Holualoa, where Chris would later graduate from Kealakehe High School. At his senior talent show Grammy Award winning guitarist and composer Charles Michael Brotman of Lava Tracks Records discovered Holt. Brotman mentored Holt while he lived in Hawaii, helping the young singer to become accustomed to the recording studio.

Holt's travels have taken him many places, where he has many people. Before moving to Nashville, Holt spent time in Laguna Niguel, California. It was during his California adventure that Holt headlined House of Blues Downtown Disney in Anaheim in May of 2013. In June of that year, Holt participated in the Texaco Country Showdown, and performed at Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California.  In December of 2013 Holt was given the honor of opening for Jake Owen, while 2014 saw Holt opening for noted artist Corey Smith. With these and other opportunities, Holt has been able to demonstrate a strong stage presence and powerful voice.

In 2014, with encouragement from family, friends and professionals, Holt packed up his car and made the big move to Nashville to more professionally pursue his career. The singer is now devoting his time to perfecting his singing and songwriting skills, working with hall of fame songwriter Roger Murrah.
