‘Catch of the Day’ – Frank Vieira – “Hands Down” [Audio]
It's Thursday and once again we bring to you a performer from Nashville who is flying under the industry's radar, but who is producing quality music as either an unsigned or an independent artist. Today we feature a singer and songwriter who comes from an unlikely region, who is sure if he found country music, or if country music found him.
Born in Schenectady, NY and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, for many years, Frank Vieira's music came second to everyone, including Frank Vieira. It was never a question as to the passion Frank had music, it was always where it came on his priority list. In school it was sports that got him through; he was a promising quarterback in high school and three time hockey all-star who played a year on the junior league level. A perfect day for him always included a fishing pole and a large mouth bass.
But it was during his senior year in high school that one class changed Frank's life. Originally enrolling in a class in guitar building because he thought it would be "cool", Vieira found his passion ignited. And piece-by-piece, class-by-class, he crafted more than just a musical instrument; he found he was also building a love for music. By the end of the class, Vieira had built a perfectly sounding acoustic guitar and was on his way down his musical path.
Frank Vieira still plays that guitar today, whether he is writing songs, in the studio or performing live for audiences across his home state of Pennsylvania. Frank has recently released his second EP, Right Here, and we have the lead single from that project in our spotlight today.
