It's Unsigned/Indy Artist Thursday, and today we are featuring an award winning singer and songwriter from Australia, who stated singing at age 13, competed and performed around her home town of Brisbane, Queensland, winning her first awards from the Queensland Country Music Talent Quest at 15. Releasing her debut EP 2005 at the age of 18, this artist won some impressive awards "down under" and then took some time off from her music career to raise a family.

The first thing I thought when I heard Rebecca Lee Nye was, "when did Sara Evans change her name?" With a style and sound very reminiscent of everybody's favorite Missouri farm girl, Rebecca has a warm, powerful voice that will put a smile on your face. Nye released her debut EP, I Started Living in her home country of Australia in 2005. The EP spawned two singles, a cover of Bonny Tyler's "It's a Heartache", and the self-penned "Gotta Say Goodbye; the pair led to Nye being named the Female Vocalist of the Year at the Victorian National Country Music Awards in both 2006 and 2007.

After the huge success if her debut project, Nye took time away from the music industry to raise a family. After 8 years out the spotlight, the now mother of three is back, with ever bit of passion and fire that she brought to the table before her hiatus. Currently in the studio working on a new album, her second, we have the lead single from the project, which currently sits at #5 on the Australian Country Music chart, in our spotlight today. Rebecca Lee Nye and "You, Me, Love (On A Saturday Night)" is our Unsigned/Indy Artist Thursday Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you're going to want to hear it again.
