‘Catch of the Day’ – Rebecca Stephens [Audio]

Every Thursday, the Catch of the Day turns the spotlight on an unsigned artist we think you need to hear. Today we feature a young artist from Wasaga Beach, Ontario, Canada, who has often been compared to Carrie Underwood and another Canadian song bird, Shania Twain.

From a very young age Rebecca Stephens has been perfecting her craft of a beautiful blend of country music and soulful lyrics, putting a unique spin on her music that challenges traditional boundaries.

Rebecca released her debut EP There Is A Light in the spring of 2014 which was produced by New York City based producers Ben Lionetti and Tyler Guida of IdreAM, Creative Group. The music video for the title track filmed in her hometown found its way to The Wasaga Beach Film Festival winning an award for best music video.

Teaming up with Lionetti and Guida once again Rebecca recently recorded her follow up EP entitled The Fight which was released January 20th, 2014.

Early in her career, Rebecca has been compared to the likes of Carrie Underwood and Shania Twain, turning many heads early on and quickly becoming one of the hottest up-and-coming young artists of the year.
