It's Thursday, and is our pleasure on these fourth day of the week, we present another of the great artist in Nashville that are either unsigned or signed to smaller, independent labels. Today we present a singer and songwriter we came to know when she landed the opening spot on Ronnie Milsap's farewell tour in 2015 and 2016.

When Risa Binder was a little girl, anything could be her microphone. She most notably would sing the songs from the movie Flashdance into an ear of corn. She is a city girl with a country soul, who biggest enjoyment is bringing her music to any and all audiences, big or small. Ever a performer, after graduating from Howard High School in Brooklyn, NY, Binder entered the University of Maryland, graduating with her degree in Theater Arts.

Her "Sweet and Greet" event at the 2014 CMA Fest in Nashville was one of the most attended of any indy artist at the festival. She currently splits her time between writing sessions in Nashville and touring the country opening for acts like Milsap, Akon and James Taylor, playing in venues like Giants Stadium in New York, RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. and West Point.

Binder's best asset may be her ability to tell a story with her songs. Her 2014 debut album, Paper Heart, told stories of love and romance, while also earning Risa an Emmy nomination for her performance on the CBS Morning Show's Second Cup Cafe.

Risa has just emerged from the studio, with a brand new album called Gotta Have You. Brought to you by All American Super Car Wash of Lawton, the lead single from the new album is in our spotlight today. Risa Binder and "You-Haul" is today's Unsigned/Indy Artist Thursday Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.

Like, comment or like the Catch of the Day, and you'll be entered into our drawing for a $25 gift card from All American Super Car Wash of Lawton.
