Its Thursday, and today we turn our attention to another of the great unsigned or indy label artists who have come onto our radar. Our artist today has been a part of the Philadelphia music scene for many years, starting out as a drummer playing for anyone in need of rhythm, eventually developing into a great singer and songwriter.

Over the past 10 years, Rob Petitti has fronted the band Waterfall, and has developed into a great front man, torrid live performer and a solid songwriter, who slides from classic rock to country with the ease of a seasoned pro. Petitti and Waterfall play regularly around the Philadelphia area and across eastern Pennsylvania and Western New Jersey, releasing a pair of indy label cd's.

Rob's first cd Waterfall garnered a lot of local radio attention, with both "Can't Stop The Rain" and "No Time To Cry" receiving airplay in and around Philly, as well as other locales across the country and on internet radio.

Rob's latest album, Open Pages was released in December (just in time for all your indy label Christmas shopping) and has been met with great critical acclaim. The first single "Say Goodbye" received airplay on several Pennsylvania radio station, and a second song from the album, "Take That" has been considered to be the theme for a local television show that is in production.

As well as being an accomplished musician, Petitti is also a talented photographer, having published a book of photography, focusing on Eastern State Penitentiary; published in 2011, the book is available at blurb.com and is called Cherry Hill: My Photographic Journey at ESP.

We dug a little deeper for today's spotlight, going back to Rob and the band's first project Waterfall for today's focus. Rob Petitti and Waterfall with "Questions" is today's Unsigned/Indy Artist Thursday Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
