On May the fourth (be with you) Rob Lopez, a father from Coral Springs, FL, decided it was time to invite his 2-year old son Sebastian to "join him on the dark side", by waking him up dressed as Darth Vader.
When Chris Pratt was cast as Peter Quill, AKA Star-Lord, in Guardians of the Galaxy, he was seen by many as an unconventional pick for a universe-saving superhero. However, Pratt proved that he’s got what it takes to save the world, and now he’s calling on you to step up and make the world a better place, and in return you get a chance to visit the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 set!
Welcome to Cast Party, the feature that imagines a world with even more live action comic book adaptations than we currently have, and comes up with arguably the best casting suggestions you’re ever going to find for the movies and shows we wish could exist. This week we're doing one that's been in the back of my mind for a while: A Disney Uncle Scrooge movie.
This movie will of course be an epic, globe-trotting adventure for the whole family. It'll be based primarily on the comics by Carl Barks and Don Rosa, but I've incorporated elements and characters from the classic Ducktales TV series, mostly because they already solved some of the problems of adaptation. Uncle Scrooge himself would be the first to point out that it's wasteful to reinvent the wheel.
In 1991, Alisan Porter was ten years old; that was the year that she burst into the American consciousness as the title character in the movie Curly Sue.
After weeks of sharing behind-the-scenes photos from the set, Vin Diesel finally has a release date for his return to the xXx franchise. xXx: The Return of Xander Cage will arrive in theaters in 2017 — between that and Fast 8 (and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2!), we’ll have plenty of extreme Vin Diesel adrenaline junkie action to keep us busy next year.
With the approaching release of Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, sides are being taken across the internet of which of the two are the favorite superhero.

This week, in celebration of Valentine's Day, we're dreaming up an Archie movie... of a sort.
I love Archie Comics, and I've wanted to put them in this column for a long time, but because I can't exactly audition unknowns who haven't had screen roles before, casting more than a couple of teenagers is really hard to do (that's also why you haven't seen Young Avengers, Runaways, or Lumberjanes in this space). But then it hit me—what if the movie was about Archie's 20 year high school reunion?
Back in June of last year, Harrison Ford was injured on the set of Star Wars: The Force Awakens when the door of the Millennium Falcon fell, dislocating his ankle and breaking his leg in two places. The production was put on hold for six months while Ford recuperated and director J.J. Abrams would later say of the incident, “Once we knew that Harrison was going to be okay, we all realized this was this greatest gift to the movie.” Abrams, and his bosses at Lucasfilm and Disney, may be disagreeing with that sentiment today as officials in London have brought four criminal charges against the Star Wars: The Force Awakens production company.
