CNBC just released their 'America's Top States' report and ranked Oklahoma as the 3rd worst place to live and work in the U.S. Like the old saying goes "opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one and they all stink!" Sure the Sooner State isn't perfect and we've got some work to do, but to be listed as the 3rd worst place to live in the country is more than a little insulting. Some may agree with this, others will disagree!

So what criteria, methodology, and factors were used to come up with this report? Supposed social experts and economists considered several different factors in their study and included categories like quality of life, health and medical, the overall economy, employment opportunities, crime rates, environmental quality, child care availability, voting rights, education, along with the inclusiveness of businesses and state government.

New to 2022 CNBC included additional categories to the factors they consider when ranking the states. According to the site, there are 88 metrics in 10 different categories. The new metrics for this year include childcare availability and resources for employees, the work-life balance of workers, and support for newer industries like cryptocurrency and cannabis. They heavily weighted the workforce categories this year.

Again Oklahoma isn't perfect, there's work to be done and improvements to make when looking at the list above. So what exactly did CNBC say about Oklahoma? Even better, what were the factors and categories that the so-called experts ranked us so low on? Below is the statement or findings from CNBC's report/study:

"Oklahomans are not big on taking care of themselves, according to United Health Foundation data, which show they are among the least likely to exercise or even eat fruits and vegetables. The state is also among the worst for adults without health insurance and childhood vaccines. Hospitals have spent much of the Covid-19 pandemic under stress, according to data from the Commonwealth Fund."

The report also stated that Oklahoma held no metics in the top 50% for strengths. It also graded the state with an (F) for 2022 life, health, and inclusion scores. The Sooner State according to CNBC has an overall score in this category of 79 out of 365 points. The report also listed weaknesses and according to CNBC's experts, our weaknesses are health, health resources, voting rights, and inclusiveness. Personally, I think they hate us, cause they ain't us!
