Community Event: The Junior Police Academy

The Lawton Police Department is hosting the first annual Junior Police Academy for all junior high and high school students in the Lawton/Ft. Sill area.
By introducing the world of law enforcement to families in this community, the LPD Junior Police Academy helps to facilitate a mutual relationship of trust and respect which will give the youth a sense of self-empowerment and give officers a purposeful connection to the community they serve.
This program is essential to the ideas that it will create a powerful connection between the police department and the citizens of Lawton, it will help to instill value for life and respect for each other, as well as help citizens acquire a better understanding of the responsibilities of being a police officer.
There will be two different locations and dates for parents to decide which location is more convenient.
The Junior Police Academy
Location #1: The Impact Center of Lawton.

Date: June 6th - 10th, 2016

Location #2: Greater Galilee Baptist Church
1428 SW Jefferson Ave.
Date: July 18th - 22nd, 2016

Application Deadline: May 25th, 2016
All high school or middle school aged kids who may be interested are welcomed to join. Applications are located at the Impact Center and at the Lawton Police Department.
Families interested in participating will need to return applications to the Police Department or to the specific site their child will be attending.
