Get Prepared Now For Tomorrows Slick Winter Weather
In a typical Southwest Oklahoma 72-hour window of wild four-season weather, tomorrow's forecast of winter weather might mean a slippery and cautious start to Thursday. Now is the time to plan.
First off, we've talked about how any decent person with an employed status listed above yours would be overall understanding if you were to roll into work a few minutes late due to ice and snow. That being said, the forecast calls for very slim amounts of snow over thin layers of ice. You can prepare for it now. Set your alarm a little early. Leave yourself time to warm the vehicle up and scrape your windows.
If you have kiddos, make plans for them too. It's always unclear what the Lawton schools will do with the weather until the last minute anyway, make a plan A, B, C, & D so it's as stress-free as it can be.
If you're the type that will call in a sick day or a little PTO just to not have to mess with the weather, do so today. That way your lingering plan doesn't become a short-notice emergency for whoever you're leaving in the lurch.
You don't need bread and milk. You don't need to rush the grocery stores and make local meteorologists food salespeople of the year. This quick hit of snow is a "here and gone" storm. We're expecting anywhere from trace amounts and a dusting up to maybe an inch depending on which local channel you're putting your faith into.
All in all, it's easy to prep the day before and nothing but stress to do so in the moment. Be an adult.
