The winter weather has slowed down operations across Lawton, including waste collection and bulk pickup. The City of Lawton resumed both waste collection and bulk pickup on Tuesday, Jan. 27, but the schedule will remain shifted for the rest of the week.

The City of Lawton resumed waste collection on Tuesday starting with Area 1. Communications and Marketing Manager Caitlin Gatlin stated that waste collection for Area 1 began at 7 a.m. Tuesday, however, trash trucks may be moving slower than usual due to neighborhood road conditions.

Area 2 waste collection will take place Wednesday, Jan. 28.

Waste collection for Area 1 typically occurs on Mondays, but since waste collection was not in operation Monday due to road conditions, Area 1's waste collection was shifted by a day.

Now, Area 2 waste collection will shift a day and take place Wednesday, Jan. 28.

Waste collection for Area 3 and Area 4 will operate as usual.

Waste collection operations for Area 3 and Area 4 are set to operate as usual. Area 3 waste collection will still take place on Thursday, and Area 4 waste collection will continue on Friday.

As for bulk waste collection for Area 4, those operations began Tuesday and are expected to continue through the week.
