
Excessive Rainfall Could Lead To Flash Flooding Across Oklahoma
Another super soaker event is on the way to Oklahoma. Several parts of the state experienced historic flooding in April. But the upcoming rain isn't expected to be as catastrophic as April, although, meteorologists are warning Oklahomans that this week's excessive rainfall could lead to flash flooding.
Parts of Oklahoma could see anywhere from three to nine inches of rain by Wednesday, June 11. Local meteorologists are already warning residents across Oklahoma that flooding will be possible this week and into next week due to the amounts of rain the state is expected to receive. Several counties have already been added into a Flood Watch that will be in effect from Monday afternoon through Wednesday morning.
Rain and storm chances will start Monday, June 2 for parts of Oklahoma.
Rain and severe storms are expected to start Monday night for parts of western, north-central, west-central and southwest Oklahoma. These areas could see hail up to golf ball size and maximum wind gusts up to 70 miles per hour. There is a very low tornado threat for Monday. Storms are expected anytime from 6 p.m. Monday through 3 a.m. Tuesday.
Flood risk to increase across Oklahoma on Tuesday, June 3.
More rain and thunderstorms are expected Tuesday, June 3 across Oklahoma. A slight risk is expected for a majority of the state. Storms could produce hail up to golf ball size and wind gusts up to 70 miles per hour. There is a low tornado threat for Tuesday.

The flood risk is also expected to increase Tuesday and into Wednesday morning. Excessive rainfall is expected with rainfall rates of half an inch to one inch each hour with maximum potential rainfall rates from two to three inches. Flash flooding is expected.
