You either hate or absolutely love Oklahoma's favorite holiday drink.

Christmas in Oklahoma is always so festive, from the lights on the homes all the way down to the yummy treats. When you visit one of Oklahoma's gigantic holiday light displays, you'll see people walking around with sweet delights and warm drinks steaming from their mitten clad hands.

Usually, if it's cold outside, people reach for the hot chocolate. But during the holidays, Oklahomans tend to prefer a cold beverage.

Oklahoma's favorite holiday drink is eggnog.

Eggnog is traditionally served cold but can be served hot. But the only times I've had eggnog has been chilled. Some people spike eggnog with their choice of alcohol making it a holiday cocktail but people who are obsessed with eggnog usually drink it straight from the bottle... or punch bowl.

What is eggnog?

For those unfamiliar with Oklahoma's favorite holiday drink, eggnog is a type of milk punch made with milk, cream, sugar, egg yolks and whipped egg whites. Sometimes bottled eggnog has its own flavors with added mint or holiday spices. But the reason why eggnog is probably Oklahoma's favorite holiday drink is because Braum's is known for having the best eggnog. You can even get eggnog as an ice cream flavor at Braum's!

Why is eggnog controversial?

Like mentioned earlier, with eggnog, you either love it or HATE it. There's really no in between when it comes to eggnog. Also, some people only drink eggnog if it's boozed up, because without it, what's the point??

Oklahomans aren't the only ones who love eggnog!

According to the website Grill Cook Bake, there are 25 other states that are just as obsessed with eggnog. Other states enjoy holiday punch, holiday sangria, hot toddy, Irish coffee or wassail. Either way, everyone loves a festive holiday drink!
