
Freeze Watch In Effect for Most of Oklahoma Thursday
Oklahoma's first freeze of the season might actually happen before the end of October this year. On Tuesday, the National Weather Service in Norman issued a Freeze Watch for the western half of Oklahoma.
The Freeze Watch will go into effect late Wednesday and will last through Thursday morning. According to the National Weather Service in Norman, subfreezing temperatures are expected Thursday morning. Temperatures could reach as low as 28 degrees in some areas.
The Oklahoma counties in the freeze watch include Harper, Woods, Alfalfa, Grant, Kay, Ellis, Woodward, Major, Garfield, Noble, Roger Mills, Dewey, Custer, Blaine, Kingfisher, Logan, Beckham, Washita, Caddo, Canadian, Grady, Harmon, Greer, Kiowa, Jackson, Tillman, Comanche, Stephens, Cotton, Hardeman, Foard, Wilbarger, Wichita, Knox, Baylor and Archer.

Oklahoma can also expect a chilly start Wednesday.
It won't be as cold as Thursday morning, but Oklahomans will definitely want to wear a jacket Wednesday morning. The National Weather Service in Norman expects Wednesday morning to be chilly and brisk across the state.
A cold airmass and a brisk northerly wind will knock wind chills down to near or below freezing Wednesday morning. Temperatures are expected in the upper 30s and mid 40s, but wind chills could be from the upper 20s to mid 30s.
Temperatures across Oklahoma will warm back up for Halloween.
Despite the Freeze Watch, Oklahoma can expect pleasant fall weather after Thursday. Temperatures will warm back up Friday for Halloween. Daytime highs are expected to be in the low to mid 60s with overnight lows in the upper 30s to low 40s.
