
More Severe Storms and Heavy Rain Expected Friday Across Oklahoma
Oklahoma experienced its first round of severe weather Thursday ahead of another two days of severe thunderstorms and heavy rain. Various areas were hit with damaging winds, hail and heavy rain Thursday evening, and more is expected Friday into Saturday.
According to the National Weather Service in Norman, strong to severe thunderstorms are possible for portions of western, southwest and central Oklahoma Friday afternoon and into early Saturday morning. The main threats will be large hail and damaging wind gusts.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is currently in effect for three counties in southwest Oklahoma, including Harmon, Jackson and Tillman. The main threats include hail up to tennis ball, wind gusts up to 80 miles per hour and a low tornado threat.
The Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect till 7 p.m. Friday.
Heavy rain expected Saturday.
A slow-moving system will begin making its way into Oklahoma Friday afternoon and continue into Saturday. Heavy rainfall is expected and could lead to flash flooding. Parts of Oklahoma could see four inches by Saturday afternoon.
A Flood Watch is currently in effect for most of Oklahoma.
The National Weather Service currently has a Flood Watch in effect for most of Oklahoma. The Flood Watch is in effect through Saturday afternoon due to the heavy rain Oklahoma is expected to receive. One to three inches of rain is expected, but some isolated areas could see over four inches.
The heavy rain could lead to flooding in low-lying areas, rivers, creeks and roads.
