
Oklahoma Gets The Bait And Switch On October Cold Front
It looks like the heat will linger in Oklahoma through the first half of October. As September began to wind down, local meteorologists were predicting a big cold front for Oklahoma around Oct. 8 that would bring daytime highs down into the 50s. But as new data comes in, its looking like Oklahoma's warm fall will continue into the middle of October.
Early this week, several Oklahoma meteorologists were predicting that fall would return to the state around Oct. 8. In early September, the state experienced multiple cold fronts that had Oklahomans thinking an early fall would be possible. But as usual, the warm summer temperatures returned to Oklahoma.
So the anticipation of fall making an early October return to the state made many excited. There was even a possibility of rain and thunderstorms with the incoming cold front.

Oklahoma will remain warm through the first half of October.
Now it looks like those warmer days will stick around well into October. On Tuesday, Sept. 30, many meteorologists in Oklahoma started saying "nevermind" about the upcoming cold front. New data is now revealing that Oklahoma will remain warm through the middle of October.
According to KFOR Chief Meteorologist Mike Morgan, the first 13 days of October are expected to be warmer than average. He expects some tropical moisture to move into Oklahoma on Oct. 13 that could break down Oklahoma's hot and dry pattern.

Farmers' Almanac predicts a dry start and stormy finish to fall in Oklahoma.
So far, it's looking the fall weather pattern prediction for Oklahoma from the Farmers' Almanac may be coming to fruition. The Farmers' Almanac predicted that Oklahoma would have a dry start to fall but by mid-month, the state could see rain and gusty winds.
