Take a Tour of This Creepy Oklahoma Abandoned Amusement Park!

This abandoned Oklahoma amusement park has a hauntingly historic past that features some of the most famous and legendary names of the old west, landmarks, and even outlaws. It was once a popular family destination that has become a literal ghost town of empty structures, broken-down rides, and attractions.

You'll find this abandoned amusement park in the small town of Cache, Oklahoma which is between Lawton, Fort Sill and Altus. Eagle park was originally opened back in 1957 and remained in operation until around 1985 when it closed permanently. I can remember going to Eagle Park as a kid, it was always a great time!

Eagle Park was the place to be back in the day and I always looked forward to going, especially in the summer. They had carnival rides of course but you could also go camping, fishing, swimming, horseback riding and they had a skating rink as well. It was the perfect family weekend getaway or staycation.

Eagle Park also hosted car shows, rodeos and if you've been around a while you probably remember the KLAW Chili Cook-Off! Those were the days! A weekend blowout complete with chili, concerts, and carnival rides! It was an annual event and one I wish was still going on today. To those who remember, it was EPIC!

Anyone who grew up going to Eagle Park has wished it would reopen, that's the dream anyway. Maybe, just maybe someday someone will reopen the park. Sadly it closed back in 1985 and has remained closed ever since. Now that it's abandoned it's kind of creepy, but for those who remember when it was open it's just sad.

One of the coolest things about Eagle Park was the 'Star House' which was once the home of the Comanche Chief Quannah Parker, how cool is that? The house got its name due to the 14 white stars painted on its roof. The old Fletcher, OK. house of outlaw Frank James, of the James Gang, is at Eagle Park in Cache, OK.

There's a lot of history and historic landmarks out at the old Eagle Park. How awesome would it be to see Quannah Parker's house remodeled and reopened, maybe as a hotel, bed and breakfast? Or the home of Frank James reopened as a restaurant or something. There's basically an entire ghost town at Eagle Park.

As tempting as it may be to go and check this place out for yourself DO NOT TRESPASS and enter the property unless you have permission from its current owners. You'll have to ask around, a good place to start would be the Trading Post which is located right outside of Eagle Park where the old sign is still standing.
