WARNING: Oklahoma is Facing a GIANT Jumping Worm Invasion!

If you haven't heard the news yet Oklahoma is facing a giant Asain Jumping Worm invasion! That's right, jumping worms have started to take over the Sooner State and are wreaking havoc on gardens, forests, and just about every other place you can think of. These invasive earthworms could cause serious damage if not stopped. Sounds strange but we're in for a fight and must do all we can to put an end to this creepy crawly!

So how did this happen and just how bad is it? Scientists believe the worms are becoming more and more prevalent due to commerce and travel. These worms are native to Japan and Korea but have managed to make the trip to Oklahoma and can now be found all over the U.S. They can cause all kinds of problems to the ecosystem and even completely ruin entire sections of land. They basically consume all the nutrients.

The Asain Jumping Worm has been an issue since the mid-2000s and the problem is only getting worse. They can be found in Oklahoma gardens and forests, even on the plains. Jumping worms usually live just below the surface of the soil and prefer compost-type soils like rotten leaf piles and wherever rich soils are present. Another big problem with the Jumping Worm is they multiply very fast and can take over quickly.

Asain Jumping Worms don't actually jump like the name implies. They actually resemble small snakes when moving and are actually really fast for a worm. They don't inch long and crawl, they thrash around and move their bodies much like a snake does. This is how you can identify them, they don't act like regular worms. They're also bigger and can grow to 8 inches in length and their bodies are much fatter than regular earthworms. Be on the lookout and if you do come across one, dispatch it with extreme prejudice!
