For those wishing for an early fall in Oklahoma, they'll want to start wishing for something else. Oklahoma is expected to remain extremely hot to end August and through September 1.

The summer temperatures have been soaring Oklahoma! One town in Oklahoma saw temperatures hit 123 degrees on Sunday. What's crazier is that's only three degrees less than the record-high temperature of 126 degrees in Jay, Oklahoma last year.

Unfortunately, the NOAA's extended forecast has Oklahoma experiencing temperatures well above average throughout the rest of August and into the first of September. This is not surprising, but it is disappointing news for a majority of Oklahomans.

Here's Oklahoma's extended forecast for the rest of August.

Most Oklahomans are counting down the days till the end of summer. Although meteorologists consider the first day of fall on September 1 and the universe starts fall on September 22, it sure won't feel like it either day in Oklahoma, especially the first of September.

The NOAA's six to 10 day extended forecast has most of Oklahoma experiencing temperatures well above average August 24-28.

For the rest of August and into September 1, the NOAA's eight to 14 day extended forecast predicts Oklahoma to still be experiencing above average temperatures but not as hot. So maybe fall could be on the way?

Oklahoma could see a brisk and rainy fall, plus stormy weather.

Once fall finally arrives, the Farmers' Almanac is predicting Oklahoma to have a brisk and rainy fall. Let's hope they're right because Oklahomans sure could use a relief from the heat.

Also, AccuWeather is expecting Oklahoma to have another round of severe weather like we did in the spring. That means severe thunderstorms, big hail, damaging winds and tornadoes are all on the table for fall.
