It's Unsigned Indy Artist Thursday at the Catch of the Day and today's catch comes to us from a promising young singer who comes from Oneida, Tn & currently hails from Knoxville, TN.

Jason Terry got his first guitar at age 5, and hasn't stopped since. His earliest memories are of getting up early on summers mornings to go fishing with his grandfather, playing baseball as well as his guitar and drums. Dark times followed as Jason grew older, leading to a battle with addiction that almost took his life. In September of 2013 he found him self at the cross roads, and one of the roads he looked down was his own destruction.

At the time he needed it the most, he received a simple text message from his mother that simply said "maybe you should change your ways." It was that moment he asked God to take away the pain and help him find his way out of the darkness that engulfed his life. It was later that day he would check into the rehab facility that would save his life.

Through the support of his parents, Jason found himself again. He began writing while in the rehab facility that related to his experience. Those songs became his 2014 EP Letting Go in which he shared his innermost thoughts about his struggles with addiction and life in general. Jason is an outdoorsman, who brings a simple philosophy to his music: he wants his fans to feel like they are his family. “I open my heart to them and hopefully one day we can sit down and they can share their hearts with me," says Jason. "I feel that is what music is all about, bringing people together.”

Currently, Jason is getting back to his country roots. He is preparing for his first major radio release, a song that assures us all that we "don’t have to take it slow." We have that song in our spotlight today, Jason Terry and “Green Light Go”, is your Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
