We have a couple of brand new murals in Lawton, Fort Sill thanks to the Shaw Brothers, Terry and Darry Shaw. Being a HUGE fan of their work I was excited to see their latest mural masterpieces. That's right, masterpieces as in plural. They just recently finished up 2 new murals you can check out at the Sticky Depot located at 707 S.W. 11th Street.  These latest additions to Lawton's ever-growing mural collection feature Bob Marley on the Northside of the building and Cheech & Chong on the Southside of the building.

I swung by during lunch today to take a quick picture and there were already people there taking selfies and other photos. I love driving around town and seeing all the murals and every so often a new one pops up like magic. Somehow I always miss seeing them work on these murals and end up seeing them when it's all finished. They're like paint ninjas. One day there's a blank wall, the next a fully painted mural, or two.

The pictures really don't do them justice you have to stop by Sticky Depot and take a look for yourself. Both are amazing and have already gathered crowds of admirers and selfie-takers. I'm blown away at the detail and color of the murals, no matter what distance you look at them they're incredible. The Shaw Brothers have outdone themselves on these two. They have to be some of the very best murals they've painted to date and they've done a TON of them. Although it's hard to pick a favorite, these are at the top of the list.

If you've been in town for a while you've probably seen their work. I ran into them yesterday evening and begged them to paint a mural of John Wayne somewhere in town. We're overdue for a mural of the Duke! I think I may have influenced them some, or at least they thought it was a great idea. Hell, they could paint it on the side of my house, I'd be game for that. Of course, the wife might have something to say about it.

If the names Terry and Darry Shaw sound familiar that's because they've painted several of the murals around town. Both are accomplished artists and if you've been in Lawton a while I'm sure you've heard those names before. They are responsible for some of the most incredible murals and are always on the lookout for new places and walls they can paint. I'm a BIG FAN and always look forward to seeing their work.

Makes you wonder what's next? We're lucky to have such talented artists in Lawton, Fort Sill. We're even luckier to be able to enjoy all their hard work and murals while out and about. It really brings a lot of smiles and happiness that's for sure. I'm already looking forward to seeing the next one, whatever and wherever it is.
