
Dangerous Cold and Snow Expected In Oklahoma Next Week
Sorry to those in Oklahoma who are hoping for spring to come early! Winter is coming back to Oklahoma next week in full force with dangerously cold temperatures, snow and possible wintry mix.
Oklahoma has had a few winter weather events in 2025. Almost all of Oklahoma saw snow the first week of January. This past week, areas of Oklahoma saw snow, ice and wintry mix. Temperatures have been cold and wind chills have been below zero, but next week will be Oklahoma's first bout with dangerously cold temperatures.
According to the National Weather Service in Norman, a strong cold front will push across Oklahoma Monday into Tuesday. The air mass is expected to bring in frigid temperatures and dangerous wind chill values Tuesday night and into Thursday. Almost all of Oklahoma could see temperatures below zero and morning wind chill values could be -10 to -20 degrees each morning.
Oklahoma could see over an inch of snow Tuesday into Wednesday.
Most of Oklahoma has a chance for accumulating snow over one inch Tuesday into Wednesday. According to the National Weather Service in Norman, a storm system will bring the potential for accumulating snow with the highest potential across northern Oklahoma and decreasing further south. As of Friday, Feb. 14, northern Oklahoma also has a low probability for greater than four inches of snow.
The National Weather Service in Norman indicated that potential for accumulating snow continues to increase for next week. The snow is expected to start Tuesday morning and last through early Wednesday morning. Travel is expected to become hazardous during this time due to snow covered roadways. So be sure to stay weather aware!
