Oklahoma Braces For A Big Weather Shift Next Week
All of Oklahoma has been looking forward to the end of August this year as a huge weather pattern shift is expected to usher in an early fall. Now that the last week of August is next week, Oklahoma residents have a clearer of picture of just how cool it will be as summer fades.
Oklahoma will have a few more days of 90-degree temperatures and clear skies. Saturday, Sunday and Monday are all expected to have daytime highs in the upper 90s and clear skies across the state.
But that will all change on Tuesday, August 26. A very strong cold front is expected to impact Oklahoma early next week and will bring daytime high temperatures into the 70s and increase rain chances across the state.
Temperatures in Oklahoma will begin to drop Tuesday.
On Tuesday, daytime high temperatures will be anywhere from 69 to 77 degrees - that's nearly a 20 degree difference than what's expected the weekend before. Daytime high temperatures are expected to remain in the 70s and 80s throughout the rest of August and into the first of September.
Heavy rain and flooding is possible across Oklahoma on Monday and Tuesday.
The cooler temperatures and rain are definitely welcome in Oklahoma, but residents will want to remain weather aware as heavy rain and flooding are possible Monday and Tuesday as the cold front rolls in.
According to the National Weather Service in Norman, Oklahoma is expected to receive multiple rounds of moderate-to-heavy rainfall next week. The rain is expected to start early Monday and continue throughout the week.
