Most Of Oklahoma Could See a Freeze or Frost Thursday Morning
Winter is slowly creeping in to Oklahoma! A Pacific cold front just blew through the state and will bring overnight lows down into the 30s. And some areas will see a freeze or some frost on Thursday morning.
Oklahoma experienced some overnight storms on Tuesday, Nov. 12 into the early morning on Wednesday, Nov. 13. The Pacific cold front ramped up the winds during the day on Wednesday and it's expected to bring overnight lows down into the 30s for most of Oklahoma. With light winds and clear skies also in the mix, it makes for the perfect weather for areas to freeze or have a bit of frost.
A majority of Oklahoma have yet to receive their first freeze/frost of the season. The panhandles and parts of northern Oklahoma received their first frost on Oct. 16 and parts of northwest Oklahoma received their first frost on Nov. 10. Now areas of southwest, central and northeast Oklahoma could see their first frost the morning of Thursday, Nov. 14.

News 9 Meteorologist Lacey Swope posted on her official Facebook page the upcoming freeze/frost forecast for Oklahoma. She's expecting overnight lows to be in the 30s for most of Oklahoma, particularly for those west of I-44. While areas in the panhandle could see overnight temperatures as low 26 degrees.
Two counties in the panhandle could see a hard freeze Thursday morning. Other areas of the panhandle and northwest Oklahoma could have a freeze, while areas through to I-44 could see a frost.
Frost Advisories issued for various counties in Oklahoma.
The National Weather Service in Norman has issued Frost Advisories for several counties in northern, western and central Oklahoma for early Thursday morning. Conditions in these areas will be favorable for frost development.
