The K-LAW Classic for Tuesday, April 2nd, is the first major hit for Kenny Rogers as a solo artist after leaving the successful country/rock group The First Edition the previous year. The song was a big international hit as well - the first of two #1's Kenny would have in the U.K. It was covered by Waylon Jennings in '77 and Billy Currington in '05. Plus, there were German, Dutch and Czech versions of the song set in a bar in Toledo. It's 'Lucille', and it was #1 36 years ago today.
