More Severe Weather and Rain Headed for Oklahoma
The rain just keeps coming in Oklahoma! Oklahoma could see severe storms Thursday, Friday and Saturday, followed by more days of rain.
Severe storms expected Thursday evening.
Oklahomans can expect severe weather to stir up around 7 p.m. Thursday, May 30 and continue into the early hours of Saturday. Those in southwest Oklahoma are at a slight chance of severe risk while those in central and northeast Oklahoma are at a marginal severe risk.
Thursday's storms are expected to produce hail up to golf ball size and winds from 60 to 80 miles per hour. The tornado threat is very low, but not zero.
Severe weather expected Friday night and into Saturday morning.
Southwest Oklahoma has another chance of severe weather Friday night after 10 p.m. and is expected to last through sunrise Saturday. Strong to severe storms will be possible with wings from 60 to 80 miles per hour and hail up to quarter size. The tornado potential is very low, but again, not zero.
Saturday evening and overnight to see severe weather.
Western and southwest Oklahoma will see more severe weather Saturday evening and into the overnight. Strong to severe storms are possible with large hail and damaging winds.
Flood watch in effect for southwest and southern Oklahoma.
Several areas across the state have been getting a lot of rain, especially the areas in southern and southwest Oklahoma. A Flood Watch has been issued for several counties in southern and southwest Oklahoma from 7 a.m. Thursday to 7 a.m. Friday. These areas could see excessive runoff result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
More rain expected in the coming days.
Looks like the first days of June could be wet in Oklahoma. There's chances of thunderstorms each day through Wednesday of next week.
