New Bakery Opening In Walters, Oklahoma This August

If you can believe it, we're already over halfway through July, so August is just around the corner. And it looks like next month southwest Oklahoma will get to look forward to the opening of a new bakery in Walters, Oklahoma! The Urban Bakery is set to open Saturday, August 12.

The Urban Bakery is owned and operated by the family at The Wild Urbans Farm in Walters, Oklahoma. According to the farm's Facebook page, "The Wild Urbans Farm originated from a vision of two professional city urbanites who love farming." Over the years, southwest Oklahomans have visited The Wild Urbans Farm (181734 HWY 77, Walters, Oklahoma) for fresh veggies, fresh bread and delicious baked treats. The Urban Bakery opening in August will be at the same location.

According to The Wild Urbans Farm Facebook page, the farm experienced a fire to its green house last year that drastically affected their vegetable production. So it looks The Wild Urbans Farm is moving forward with their talent for baking. It looks like the bakery recently got an Italian oven for breads!

The Urban Bakery will open as a bakery, but after a few weeks, they will begin offering lunch on Fridays and Saturdays. The bakery's main product will be traditional sourdough and handmade breads. They will also offer cookies, pastries, cakes and pies.
