Oklahoma Sees A 20 Degree Drop As Summer Heat Dips
A cold front started making its way through Oklahoma on Thursday morning and immediately began cooling the state. A second cold front is expected to move in Friday, and Oklahoma is set to see several days of below average temperatures and increased chances for rain.
As soon as the cold front entered Oklahoma on Thursday morning, it immediately decreased temperatures by 20 degrees. In the early afternoon, places in northern, western, central and parts of southwest Oklahoma started experiencing temperatures in the 70s and 80s.
Below average temperatures expected throughout Oklahoma through the weekend.
It may not be fall-like weather, but the temperatures will be much cooler than they have been through the weekend. Daytime temperatures are expected to be at or below average temperatures for early August on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and maybe into Sunday and Monday.
Shower and storm chances will continue across Oklahoma into the weekend.
The cold fronts will also bring in increased chances for showers and storms across Oklahoma. Precipitation is expected to be sporadic, so not all of Oklahoma will see rain over the weekend. But parts of Oklahoma have anywhere from a 15 to 80 percent chance of seeing rain Thursday through Saturday.
