Oklahoma Will See Unusual Mild and Wet Weather to End July
Usually by this time of the year, all Oklahomans hear about is how hot it is, and how hot it will be, and we're in a drought, and there doesn't ever seem to be an end in site for the scorching summer. But the forecast has thrown something unusual to Oklahoma: mild and wet weather.
The NOAA extended forecast for July 22-26 is predicting below average temperatures for Oklahoma.
Plus, most of Oklahoma is expected to receive above normal amounts of rain during that time.
How much cooler will it be in Oklahoma?
Let's just say Oklahoma may not see temperatures close to 100 or hear about heat indices for the rest of July. Areas of the panhandle and northern Oklahoma might not even break into the 90s! While those in central and southwest Oklahoma will have daytime highs in the lower 90s.
How much rain will Oklahoma get?
It's very unusual for Oklahoma to have rain in general in the forecast for July. But multiple days of rain, plus several inches of rain expected is unheard of. Usually by this time of year people are praying for rain! Oklahoma has several chances of rain for at least the next seven days.
And meteorologists across the state are predicting for almost all of Oklahoma to see at least over an inch of rain by next week. Again, unheard of in July, but definitely welcomed!
