Rain expected around Christmas this week.
According to the National Weather Service in Norman, although Oklahoma is expected to receive rain this week, it is not supposed to rain during the Christmas holiday. Two Pacific weather systems are expected to move through Oklahoma this week, which are what will bring the rain.
The first Pacific system will move through Monday evening into Tuesday morning. It will also bring in a cold front to Oklahoma. The second system will move in Wednesday night and into Thursday with more widespread rain.
Christmas Day is wedged in between these two systems and it's expected to stay dry with overcast skies. Over the holiday, Oklahoma is expected to be cold in the mornings and warmer than average in the afternoons due to the milder Pacific air coming in with the two systems.
