If you've been online anytime over the past several days you've probably heard about this story out of Houston, Texas. Last Friday (01-06-23) evening around 11:30 p.m. a masked and armed robber entered a restaurant, the El Ranchito. He attempted to rob the patrons and was shot and killed by an armed citizen.

Those are the basic facts of what happened but the story gets really interesting as more details surface. First, if you watch the full video the robber is shot several times, including while he's on the ground. Some say it was overkill. Then it turns out the robber was using a fake gun or a pellet gun during the robbery.

Wait it gets even weirder. The man who shot and killed the robber goes through his pockets and gives all the items and money back to the victims. Then everyone just leaves, no one calls the cops or sticks around. They all leave the restaurant, how crazy is that? Needless to say, a lot of questions are being asked.

WARNING: The video below may be disturbing to some, viewer discretion is advised

Police have tracked down the armed citizen and a few others that were involved and brought them in for questioning. At this time it looks like Harris County District Attorney's Office will be bringing the case before a grand jury to decide. It's a crazy case and I can't recall anything quite like this happening before.

The video has been making the rounds on social media, forums, chats, and just about everywhere else. It's been seen several times on various Oklahoma forums as people react both critically and complimentary to how this armed customer handled the situation. You can watch the full-length video on the ASP YouTube channel or just click here. It will give you a much better understanding of how everything went down. One thing's for sure, it's going to be very interesting to see how this plays out. The biggest issue is everyone leaving the scene and not contacting the authorities.

Add to that the shots that were taken while the robber appeared to be incapacitated. This will be debated and discussed a lot throughout the investigation and possible trial depending on what the grand jury finds. As far as the robber using a fake gun, that in my opinion isn't an issue. If it looks like a gun and you're using it like a gun, then it's a gun. There's no way in the heat of the moment to verify if it's real or not. Again, it's my opinion.
