Oklahoma Could See Snow Thanksgiving Weekend

Some of the areas in the north and northeast of the United States will be seeing a mega snow storm this Thanksgiving holiday, and it looks like Oklahoma might see some white flurries from the sky as well. Oklahoma meteorologists are predicting a winter storm for Thanksgiving weekend.

According to News 9 Chief Meteorologist David Payne, "latest data still brings snow to the northwest with some areas seeing 1 to 2 inches. A mix of cold rain, sleet, and snow in the metro will be possible."

Will Oklahoma see snow on Thanksgiving?

Right now, snow predictions are mostly for Friday, so if you're celebrating Thursday, your travel plans shouldn't be impacted! But if your plans linger into Friday and the weekend, you may be traveling to your festivities with more than just a dessert or side dish.

The cold front is expected to move in Friday night, and KSWO is predicting that areas in southwest Oklahoma could see a rain/snow mix, with areas of north Texas just experiencing cold rain.
