Great news, the brand new Sonic on Sheridan Road in Lawton is NOW OPEN! Awhile back we lost 2 Sonic Drive Ins here in town, the one on Lee Blvd near 2nd street and the one closest to Fort Sill on Sheridan road. We were all wondering what was going on and worried that Sonic Drive Ins were closing in town. Then we saw them breaking ground and building the new location at 1609 N.W. Sheridan Road.

If you've been down Gore Boulevard lately you've seen all the construction going on near the 18th block at 1801 West Gore. So what's being built? It's the new Chiefs Smokin Icehouse!

There's only two things guaranteed in life, death and taxes or in this case Death & Axes mobile axe throwing trailer! This has to be one of the coolest things I've ever seen and honestly there isn't a person I know who wouldn't want to step up and throw an axe at the target, repeatedly.

If it's been awhile since you've been on the west side of Lawton the new Starbucks is close to be completed. It won't be long now before you'll be able to stop in or drive thru for all your favorite drinks and treats.

The open lot next to Raising Cain's Chicken has been sold. There's been rumors galore as to who purchased it and what could be coming to Lawton, Fort Sill. Originally there was talk of Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen moving in, then the talk turned to Panera Bread. We've been hearing rumors of Panera Bread for some time now and it's looking like it may be true. We're starting to see signs online and elsewhere that Panera Bread is coming.

COVID-19 has claimed another National chain that will be closing stores due to the pandemic and it's negative economic impact. Bed Bath & Beyond announced that it will be closing over 200 stores in the U.S. and Canada over the next few years. Recently they listed the first 60 stores that will be closed by year's end.

We had the opportunity to go inside the new Chick-Fil-A on Cache Road in Lawton, OK. and get a sneak peek of what's to come. Owner/manager Jonathan Pickett invited us in for an exclusive look and we were all to happy to take him up on the offer. Good news! We got the official word today that the wait is almost over it. The Cache Road Chick-Fil-A location will be back up and running on Thursday, August 6th 2020 (08-06-20).

The wait is almost over...Finally the new and improved Chick-Fil-A location on Cache Road in Lawton is about to re-open within the next few weeks. We're hearing it will be open early August, maybe as soon as the first week in August.

Unfortunately there's another local business closing due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Mountain Boomer Tavern announced last week that they would be closing their doors permanently.
