A Canadian Cold Front Is Headed for Oklahoma
Another cold front is headed for Oklahoma this weekend. A Canadian cold front will make its way down from our neighbors up north and will bring low temperatures into the 40s in Oklahoma.
Over Labor Day weekend, Oklahoma received a cold front that brought daytime temperatures down to below average and sparked several rain showers across the state through the holiday and into this week. Local meteorologists are now tracking another cold front on its way to Oklahoma this weekend. Daytime highs are expected to be in the 70s with overnight lows in the 40s and 50s.
Another big weather pattern shift headed for Oklahoma.
News 9 Chief Meteorologist David Payne is expecting the Canadian cold front to bring in another weather pattern shift for Oklahoma. It's expected to bring "nice fall weather" this weekend and into next week.
But at the end of next week, Oklahoma is expected to warm back up. The NOAA's extended forecast expects Oklahoma's temperatures for Sept. 10-16 to be above average. Most of the state will likely see warmer temperatures towards the middle of September, while a corner of southeast Oklahoma may experience near normal temperatures.
Not many rain chances on the horizon for Oklahoma.
Unfortunately, not many rain chances are expected for Oklahoma moving into September. The NOAA expects Oklahoma to be below average for chances of precipitation Sept. 10-16.
