
Summer Heat To Impact Oklahoma The Middle of June
We knew this day would come - the dreaded summer heat is returning to Oklahoma. It's looking like Oklahoma temperatures are expected to be well above average starting the middle of June. And we all know it's only going to get hotter as summer continues.
Temperatures haven't been too bad across Oklahoma this spring and the start of June. There have been a few days over 90s and some close to 100. Oklahoma hasn't had any extreme heat warnings or advisories just yet, but those days will be here sooner than we'd like. And Oklahoma could get a good taste of the summer heat the middle of June.
The extended forecast indicates above average temperatures in Oklahoma the middle of June.
The NOAA's six to 10 day forecast expects Oklahoma to see above average temperatures from June 15-19. And looks like areas in the panhandle of Oklahoma could see more above average temperatures than those in other parts of the state. Although, that doesn't mean that's where it will be hottest.
The NOAA's extended forecast through June 23 expects Oklahoma's above average temperatures to continue. But it looks like a cool down is possible. Although, it will still be hot.

Oklahoma's summer this year is expected to be 'sizzling and showery.'
Oklahoma residents know that summer will always be hot. It's just a matter of when and how long. Oklahoma has seen some historic summers of the past couple of years. And this year's summer, according to the Farmers' Almanac, is expected to be sizzling and showery.
It's been a busy spring for Oklahoma with multiple tornadoes and historic rain showers. And it looks like those showers could continue into the summer. The summer solstice will officially kick off summer on Friday, June 20, and according to the Farmers' Almanac, most of the country could be experiencing "unsettled and stormy conditions." This prediction may be starting to line up with the NOAA extended forecast as above average precipitation is expected June 17-23 for most of Oklahoma.
As for the heat, the Farmers' Almanac expects most of the country to be experiencing more above average temperatures by July. The Farmers' Almanac also expects "more long-time high temperature records" to break this year. We'll have to wait till closer to time for extended forecasts for July to be available, but most Oklahomans can agree that multiple days of high temperatures are a guarantee.
