I don't know about most of Lawton, but I started to get stir crazy in my home as the snow lingered long after the storm. The main issue wasn't just the amount of snow, but temperatures remained below freezing for several days after Lawton got nearly six inches of snow!

And as of Thursday, several roads in Lawton are still covered in snow and ice! Temperatures got barely above freezing on Wednesday and now afternoon temperatures are in the upper 30s. So we're finally starting to see some melting!

City of Lawton continues clearing main city streets.

When looking out your window, you probably still see the street in front of your house blanketed by snow and ice. But if you're able to venture out, you'll find that most of the main roads in Lawton are pretty clear!

The City of Lawton has had crews diligently working on the main roads since it started snowing last weekend. Crews have been salt/sanding roads as well as plowing.

On Wednesday, the City of Lawton gave an update regarding the clearing of streets and stated that crews are continuing to work on keeping main roads clear. The City of Lawton also has crews working on other roads as advised by the Lawton Police Department based areas that have seen the most accidents.

The City of Lawton is also asking the citizens to help with roads.

Some residents in Lawton are either getting out or hiring someone to clear the driveways and sidewalks. The City of Lawton is asking citizens who are shoveling snow to not push snow into the street as it can refreeze and cause more hazards.
