It's time for some serious spring cleaning in Lawton! The City of Lawton will host its annual Trash Off event on Saturday, May 2.

Every spring the City of Lawton hosts one day where residents can drop off some hard to get rid of items. Plus, residents are encouraged to sign up to clean various areas around town.

Trash Off will take place Saturday, May 2 in the parking lot at McMahon Memorial Auditorium.

As usual, the main Trash Off event will take place in the parking lot at McMahon Memorial Auditorium on Ferris Avenue. In the parking lot, the City of Lawton will have various stations set up for residents to drop off various items. Below are the items Lawton residents can dispose of during Trash Off:

  • Tires Without Rims
  • Scrap Metal
  • Appliances
  • Batteries
  • Furniture
  • Paint
  • Sensitive Documents For Shredding
  • Donation Items (clothes, kitchen items, etc.)

Lawton residents can drop off items for free with proof of address. Non-residents can drop off items for $25, cash or check only.

Trash Off is also accepting volunteers to clean up around Lawton.

During Trash Off, residents can volunteer to clean up areas around Lawton. People can volunteer as a family, an organization, a church group, or even as an individual to help clean areas around town during Trash Off.

The City of Lawton asks volunteers to fill out an online form to volunteer for Trash Off. The form does give volunteers an option to pick what areas in Lawton they would prefer to help clean, but areas are on a first-come, first-served basis.
