
Mid-December Is Looking Warm And Dry for Oklahoma
On the fourth day of December, most of Oklahoma woke up to freezing temperatures and snow. But this may be the last bit of winter weather Oklahoma will see for the next week or two of December.
According to the National Weather Service in Norman, the NOAA's eight to 14 day outlook for Dec. 9-15 is predicting warmer temperatures and drier conditions. Both the warm and dry conditions are expected to abnormal for this time of year in Oklahoma.
Oklahoma could start to see daytime highs in the 60s next week.
Oklahoma has had a chilly first week of December, plus two days with winter weather, including freezing rain on Monday and snow on Thursday. As we head into the weekend, daytime highs will start to creep back up into the 50s, which is an average daytime high for Oklahoma in December.
But starting Tuesday, Dec. 9, Oklahoma will start to see daytime highs back up in the 60s. As of Thursday, Oklahoma doesn't have any precipitation chances in its seven-day forecast, except for the chance of freezing fog for Friday.

Will Oklahoma see a white Christmas this year?
It has been 16 years since Oklahoma has seen a white Christmas. Many people can remember Oklahoma's historic snowstorm of 2009. It definitely altered holiday plans for hundreds of Oklahoma residents.
But is Oklahoma due a white Christmas? It has been an unseasonably wet year for Oklahoma with historic flooding and the quenching of a six-year drought. We're still too far out for any white Christmas predictions. But KFOR Chief Meteorologist Mike Morgan has hinted that "something BIG is brewing" for Oklahoma Dec. 18-24. Is it a snow storm? Or is it an ice storm? As usual, we'll have to wait and see.
