Here Is the Official Thanksgiving Forecast for Oklahoma
Thanksgiving is only a few days away, and Oklahomans are making their preparations to hit the road and cook their turkey. But if Oklahomans are planning on spending anytime outdoors, they'll want to wear a few layers and zip up their winter coats.
Oklahoma has had some wild weather this November. Earlier this month, Oklahoma received several inches of rainfall. And several areas of the state saw multiple tornadoes. As of Nov. 26, Oklahoma has seen 16 confirmed tornadoes, which set a new record for the state for the number of tornadoes during the month of November. The previous record was 12 confirmed tornadoes in November of 1958.

Some areas of Oklahoma have already had their first snow of the season.
The first freeze for a lot of areas came late in Oklahoma, but the panhandle has already received its first taste of winter! On Nov. 8, Cimmaron County was under a Winter Storm Warning as the area received over 10 inches of snow. Snow continues to cover areas of Black Mesa State Park in Oklahoma's panhandle thanks to cool temperatures.
Oklahoma expected to have calm yet chilly weather for Thanksgiving.
Last week, a future track from the Oklahoma Mesonet indicated that snow would be possible in Oklahoma on Thanksgiving. But those snow chances have shifted and the possibility of snow on Thanksgiving in Oklahoma has diminished. But thanks to two cold fronts, Thanksgiving will be a chilly day in Oklahoma.
According to the National Weather Service in Norman, Thanksgiving is expected to have a chilly morning with highs in the 30s. The afternoon is expected to warm up slightly with highs in the mid 40s. As for precipitation chances, there is still a 20 percent chance of precipitation during the predawn hours on Thanksgiving.
So Thanksgiving in Oklahoma is looking like the perfect day to stay inside and enjoy all of the best foods that make up the holiday!
