The City of Lawton just announced that they plan on re-opening all the splash pads and wading pools over the next couple of weeks. Lawton has 2 splash pads and 3 wading pools, along with a public pool. The first to open will be the splash pads, those open back up on Saturday, May 21st (05-22-21). The wading pools will reopen on Tuesday, May 25th (05-25-21) same for the Lawton Public pool.

The City of Lawton just announced that the 2021 Lawton, Fort Sill Freedom Festival is a go! The event will be held at Elmer Thomas Park located at 501 N.W. Ferris Avenue on the corner of Ferris and 3rd Street Saturday, June 26th (06-26-21). The festival will get underway around 6:00pm that night and go until around 10:30pm ending with one of the largest fireworks displays in S.W. Oklahoma!

LCT (Lawton Community Theatre) will be getting a new home soon. The Lawton City Council voted unanimously last month to lease the old National Guard Armory in Elmer Thomas Park to LCT. We had the opportunity to speak with the Executive Director of the Lawton Community Theatre, Chance Harmon earlier today to discuss the move and the upcoming Hotel Motel Tax. Both are very important topics and issues for LCT.

If you haven't been yet you'll definitely want to check out the new "Patriot Pavilion" at Elmer Thomas Park in Lawton. The project was completed back in early November with official dedication and grand opening ceremonies. I finally had a chance yesterday to go and check it out and it's amazing!

You can now get FREE wood chips and mulch at Elmer Thomas Park located at 501 N.W. Ferris Ave in Lawton. The wood chips and mulch are FREE to all Lawton, Fort Sill residents and you're welcome to get as much as you need. The park is open 6:00am CST until 11:00pm CST 7 days a week.

This year the kids will get twice the candy for Halloween! Get ready for the 1st Annual Park-O-Treat brought to you by Ellipsis. The event will take place at Elmer Thomas Park on Halloween night Saturday, October 31st 2020 (10-31-20) from 4:00pm until 6:00pm. Park-O-Treat at Elmer Thomas Park is FREE family event.

This weekend on Saturday (06-27-20) the Lawton splash parks will re-open for the 2020 Summer season. The splash park at Elmer Thomas Park on 2nd and Ferris and the Clement Washington Sr. splash park on 6th and Belmont.

Beginning today, the Playground in the Park, located on the east side of Lawton's Elmer Thomas Park, will be shut down for improvements that will make the playground a lot more inhabitable during summer months. A shade structure, consisting of sail like coverings, will be built over the playground's equipment to make the equipment more enjoyable and safe as summer temperatures climb...

Central Baptist Church will be hosting a live Nativity scene at Elmer Thomas Park in Lawton, OK.

There has been a change to the route of Saturday's Holiday in the Park Christmas Parade, made necessary by the construction work currently ongoing on second street.

This Saturday, the streets of Lawton will welcome on of the nation’s largest Armed Forces Day parades. With a theme of “Legacy built on sacrifice”, this years parade will wind through the streets of downtown Lawton, coming to an end at Elmer Thomas Park on Northwest Ferris Avenue.
