"Twisters" was the blockbuster of the summer this year, especially in Oklahoma. And now the original from 1996, "Twister," will return to the big screen after 28 years for the 4DX experience.

Regal Cinemas announced this week that "Twister" will be released for the first time ever in 4DX. This will be a limited theatrical run starting August 30. Tickets are currently on sale online.

What is 4DX?

According to the Regal Movies website, 4DX auditoriums are equipped with "motion enabled chairs, which create strong vibrations and sensations, as well as other environmental controls for simulated weather or other conditions, such as lightning, rain, flashing (strobe) lights, fog and strong scents."

When "Twisters" was released on July 19, several people documented their experience on social media, especially TikTok. They could feel the tornadoes, smell/feel the rain and the wind. They were full immersed in the movie!

Oklahoma has one 4DX movie theater.

Oklahomans who want to "Twister" back on the big screen and experience the classic film in 4DX will want to get tickets at the Regal Warren in Moore, Oklahoma. "Twister" will start showing at 4DX Regal Cinemas on August 30 and will be showing for one week.

Another interesting thing about seeing "Twister" at the Regal Warren in Moore is that the theater itself survived an EF-5 tornado that struck Moore on May 20, 2013. The tornado didn't hit the movie theater directly but it was close and the theater did experience significant damage.

Many Oklahomans saw "Twisters" at the theater when it hit screens and said it felt like a full circle moment.
