
Celebrate the Army’s 250th Birthday Friday, June 13 on Fort Sill
Almost every citizen in Lawton has a connection to the U.S. Army thanks to Fort Sill. And on Friday, June 13, Lawton residents and those in surrounding communities are invited to recognize the Army's 250th birthday on Fort Sill with live fire, drone demonstrations and more.
The Army's 250th Birthday Demonstration is free and open to the public. It will take place from 8-11:30 a.m. on Fort Sill. The celebration will feature a live fire demonstration of modern and historic artillery systems, drone demonstrations, static displays of field artillery and air defense artillery platforms. The celebration will also feature local food trucks and family-friendly attractions!

8 a.m. - Static Displays and Food Trucks Open
9:30 a.m. - Future Soldiers Sworn In
10 a.m. - Army 250th Celebration Begins
11 a.m. - Celebration Concludes

City of Lawton will provide busing to Fort Sill for citizens.
For those in Lawton who require transportation to attend the celebration on Fort Sill, they can ride on a LATS bus! The City of Lawton and LATS will provide transportation from City Hall to Fort Sill and back on Friday. No reservation is needed. Attendees must bring a photo ID.
Lawton will celebrate the Army's 250th birthday with a parade on Saturday.
The celebration of the Army's 250th birthday doesn't stop on Friday! Lawton will celebrate the Army's birthday on Saturday, June 14 with an Army Birthday Parade. The parade will start at 11 a.m. Saturday and will go from Central Plaza, down SW C Ave, 11th Street/Fort Sill Blvd and end at Ferris Ave near Lawton High School.
