
Extreme Winds Spark Wildfire Outbreak Across Oklahoma
Oklahoma is set to be impacted by extreme winds Friday and into the evening. Most of the state is under either a High Wind Warning or a Red Flag Warning until 10 p.m. Friday and wildfires are already breaking out across Oklahoma. Some towns being impacted by wildfires have been issued evacuation orders.
Multiple wildfires have sparked up across Oklahoma. As of 3 p.m. Friday, the National Weather Service in Norman has issued several Fire Warnings for multiple counties, including southern Osage, southern Pawnee, northeast Roger Mills, southwestern Dewey, southeastern Logan, western Lincoln, western Pottawatomie, northeastern Cleveland, northwestern and western Payne, southern Noble and northwest Dewey.
The wildfires across the state are impacting multiple areas, including highways, cities and towns. Some of the wildfires are dangerous and are moving rapidly due to the dry vegetation and extreme winds.
Evacuation orders are in place for multiple areas across Oklahoma.
As of 3 p.m. Friday, the National Weather Service in Norman has issued multiple evacuation notices. Other evacuation notices have been issued by local county emergency management. The evacuation notice issued by the National Weather Service in Norman is in place for northeastern Cleveland County, specifically for the areas around 108th and Tecumseh in east Norman.
An evacuation order is also issued for the Leedey, Oklahoma, which was issued by they Dewey County Emergency Management.
The Dewey County Emergency Management has also issued an evacuation order for the town of Camargo as the wildfire makes its way northeast from Leedey.

All of Oklahoma should remain weather aware into the evening on Friday. With the high winds and dry vegetation, wildfires could spark up quickly and move rapidly. Oklahomans will want to pay attention to local county emergency management and meteorologists.
