
Oklahoma Could See a Multi-Day Tornado Outbreak This Weekend
Spring is expected to do what it does best this weekend as Oklahoma and other states in the midwest and south could see a multi-day tornado outbreak on Saturday, March 29 and Sunday, March 30. Oklahomans will have a week to prepare for back-to-back days of severe weather!
Extreme Meteorologist Reed Timmer posted to his official Facebook page on Monday morning about the multi-day tornado outbreak for this weekend. The Storm Prediction Center is expecting two days of back-to-back severe weather this weekend. Parts of Oklahoma could see severe weather both Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, parts of northern, northeast, central, eastern and southeast Oklahoma could be impacted by severe weather. And on Sunday, areas of northeast, eastern and southeast Oklahoma could still see severe weather.
National Weather Service In Norman has issued a slight severe weather risk for Saturday.
As of Monday, the National Weather Service in Norman is expecting a slight risk for severe weather on Saturday. Severe thunderstorms could develop along and east of I-35. All hazards are possible.
Rain chances will increase throughout the week in Oklahoma.
Even though severe storms are expected this weekend, rain is on the way! It has been extremely dry in Oklahoma, and coupled with the high winds has made a wildfire outbreak across the state persist for over a week. Luckily, rain chances will increase in Oklahoma starting Tuesday evening.
Scatter thunderstorms are expected to develop Tuesday evening across south central Oklahoma and will move further south into Wednesday morning. Scattered rain chances are also possible Thursday and Friday before the severe weather threat on Saturday and Sunday. Be sure to remain weather aware!
